TOMORROW WE RACE

The team had another long and exciting day in Rouen, France.  We started the day with more television and press interviews then off to registrations and inspections.  We has a small issue with trim but our crew was able to get it fixed and we feel prepared for tomorrow.

This afternoon we had drivers presentation, when the team was announced and we went on stage we had a very warm welcome by local spectators.  All the teams then proceeded to the top of the bridge to throw a rose into the River Sienne in honor of the man who started Rouen 48 years ago.

I had a chance to evaluate the water conditions today.  The water is extremely rough with a very strong current and debri everywhere, it will be very challenging!

After the drivers presentation the team was escorted to the drivers briefing which was held in French, however, the officials were very kind and has a smaller detailed drivers meeting for the English speaking drivers.

The officials have incorportated new rules to help deal with commercial barge traffic on the course during the event.  There will be safety/rescue involved but we will still need to race with commercial traffic on the course.

Tomorrow we will be in the race paddock at 8 a.m. for a boat tour of the course and then our first test session.  The drivers order is undecided at this time until testing, with the exception of Marie-line who will start the race.  Our team manager has decided to do approximately 1 hour intervals for tomorrow then we will re-establish what is needed to be done to be successful.

Thanks

ROUEN - WEDNESDAY

The girls and I have had a very interesting and promising day here in Rouen.  Although we created some video for you, we have had a little issue and are working hard to get them posted for you.  The internet access here has been a little problematic and my teammates, Bimba and Mette have been absolutely incredible posting as much as they can for you on facebook via there I-phones. (THANKS GUYS!)

We spent the day meeting the rest of the crew, photographers, competing teams and reviewing the boat.  The seat was adjusted for our teammates, oil pump incorporated into the boat and throttle cable fixed. We tested our new Mercury gearcase and ofcourse it works perfectly!

First thing tomorrow morning we will need to be in the pit area for more television interviews with La Chaine Normande, then off to registration, inspection and more orientation.  In the evening we will have our official briefing and pilot presentation to the public.

As we left the paddock tonight the boats and engines of all the teams were wrapped to ensure no tampering and security personal was working overtime.

The weekend should have great weather and therefore very great racing.

I will keep you updated

WERE IN ROUEN

It's been an incredible day here in Rouen, I flew through the night and landed in beautiful Paris at 10:00 am where I met teammate, Bimba Sjoholm (Sweeden) and team sponsor, Phillip of La Tarte Tatin.

We then drove 2 hours to Rouen where we met the remaining members of Olympic Team Rouennais, Mette  Bjerknaes (Norway), Marie-Line Hericher (France), Team Manager Albert Hericher, and Operation Manage, Carl Kinder.

The majority of the day was spent reviewing the boats set-up and discussing a plan for the 24 Hours of Rouen.  The Moore tunnel boat and Mercury OptiMax engine looks great, the team has invested a lot of time to make sure it is well prepared for us.

This afternoon, we had a huge VIP party with television from La Chaine Normande and we met local sponsors and fans.

The weekend weather is suppose to be sunny and warm with an average temperature of 26C.

Tomorrow, the team will do some minor adjustments on the boat and finish final preparations for the race.  I will work on my video logs tomorrow and have them to you ASAP

Thank
Tammy
